Dr. Abbott is a native of Northern Virginia. She graduated from Baylor College of Medicine with her MD in 1987. From there she moved to Washington DC to do her residency in Pediatrics at the Children's Hospital National Medical Center. In 1990 she began private practice in Manassas, Virginia. She was board certified in 1991 and became a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has maintained this board certification demonstrating ongoing commitment to pediatric education and children since this time. She formed Crestwood Pediatric Associates in 1993. Since this time the practice has grown to encompass a staff of two pediatricians and three nurse practitioners and added a second office location in the Gainesville/Haymarket area. Her interests include the education and support of new parents and breast feeding, education on the benefits of vaccination, and fighting our growing problem of childhood obesity. She is also very interested in maintaining an affiliation with the regional hospitals. She helped start the in-house hospitalist program at Prince William Hospital, started the Pediatric Grand Rounds program at Prince William Hospital, and served for several years as Chairman of the Physician Credentialing Committee at Prince William Hospital.
Dr. Abbott has been recognized as a Top Doctor in the Washingtonian almost every year since 2005 and in the Northern Virginia Magazine since 2013. She currently lives in Chantilly, Virginia with her husband. She has 6 grown children. In all aspects of her life, she is devoted to children. "So much of the advice I give to my patients and their parents comes from having been there and done that myself."
Dr. Patel graduated from Saint George’s University School of Medicine in 2008 and completed her pediatric residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2011. She enjoys all aspects of pediatrics and her main goals are to build strong relationships with her patients and their families and provide the best care possible. She practices evidence based medicine in her general practice of pediatrics.
She is a native Texan who is now settled in the northern Virginia area with her husband and two children. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, watching movies with her husband, and has taken interest in interior design and art.
Madison Smith graduated from the University of San Francisco in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in finance. Following her passion for the medical field, she chose to earn a bachelor’s degree in nursing. After completing her studies, she worked as a critical care registered nurse in the adult acute care unit in Virginia Beach. While working toward her masters of nursing as a Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PCPNP), Madison worked in a pediatric multi- specialty unit in New Mexico which included ear, nose and throat; endocrinology; chronic care; gastroenterology; and surgery. This experience provided her with a comprehensive understanding of children’s various needs and care. She completed her masters of nursing in the area Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from Old Dominion University.
Madison moved to northern Virginia in 2019 and has been a team member of Crestwood since 2020. Her husband has dedicated his service to the military for 10 years in the Commonwealth. Madison enjoys spending time with her 4 year old daughter, Charlee, and the family dog, Clark. The family loves cycling, hiking, and traveling. She is a member of National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP).

Chelsea Abrigo is a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner. She received a Bachelor of Science in both Biology and Neuroscience from Christopher Newport University. While earning these degrees she worked as a medical scribe which sparked her passion for health care. Chelsea pursued further education and completed an accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing at George Mason University.
She then embarked on a fulfilling bedside nursing career at Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin, Texas. Over the course of five years she honed her skills in providing compassionate and comprehensive care to children and their families. While working at Dell Children’s Medical Center, Chelsea pursued a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin with a specialization in Pediatric Primary Care.
Beyond her professional achievements, Chelsea finds joy and fulfillment in spending time with her husband, two young daughters, and golden retriever. She embraces an active lifestyle and enjoys outdoor activities, running, trying new restaurants, live music, sports, and spending time with family and friends.
Alena Oates received both a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Pediatric Primary Care from The Ohio State University. Working as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner allows her to combine her passion for the care of children and her dedication to science. Alena is a Board Certified Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. She values primary care because of the ability to form long-lasting relationships with patients and their caregivers. She has enjoyed working in primary care at Nationwide Children's Hospital since her graduation. Alena's interests outside of pediatrics include indoor cycling, walking outdoors, reading, and international travel. She looks forward to establishing herself in Northern Virginia long-term!
